If the subject of Heathen children holds any interest for you than you are going to want to put an hour aside to Listen to Matt and Rey Leonard as they discuss their journey thus far as heathen parents. Dave and I were blown away by their personable nature and the candor with which they discussed some very personal sentiments. We know you will be too.

Heilsa All!
We are back from the East Coast Thing 2009 and thrilled to present to you one of the many great classes. Tanya Peterson is a member of this year’s hosting kindred, Gladsheim. She presented a class on Hospitality, that we thought was excellent and worthy of a listen. She uses the Havamal to break down modern ethics concerning how to be a good guest, a good host as well as appropriate internet and every day hospitality.
Many thanks to Tanya for letting us record her class.

Dave and I Love supporting heathen events so we jumped at the chance to speak to Mark Stinson and Rod Landreth of Jotun’s Bane Kindred regarding an event that has been a year in the making, Lighting Across the Plains. We were blown away by the thought and effort that has been put into the event and we know you will be to! It really is all about the community.

Heilsa All!
This is our first videocast. And we do apologize for both the quality and timeliness of this. But it is about 45 minutes of goodness telling the saga of what it took to create a place for our honored dead. It was recorded at the International Asatru Summer Camp July 2009.
The description from the pre-event newsletter, “Solvej Vikkelsø will be talking about creating a heathen burial ground. Solvej is a member of Danish Forn Siðr and the one who has all the photos, plans, architect drawings and others things in digital form of the burial place of Forn Siðr in Odense - Søren Fisker and Solvej Vikkelsø are the ones who did all the planning and work up to and including the actual making of the stone-ship (skibssætning). In other words, Solvej knows exactly what she is talking about when she tells you what it took for Forn Siðr to have their own heathen burial ground.”
Rest assured, we will be podcasting more goodies from IASC.
But not too soon as the end of August is time for the East Coast Allthing! Hope to see you there and we will bring back more good stuff from that event as well.

Heilsa All!
With the help and assistance of Joe Mandato, we talk about Tyr and Dave’s relationship with him. We discuss how Dave became a patron of Tyr, his tips on bettering your relationship to him and a lawyer’s jaded view about justice.

We were lucky enough to get a chance to speak with Bruner Soderberg about this years Pagan Spirit Gathering. Bruner will be hosting a Sunna Blot this year. Registration is closing fast but we hope that some of you will make it to the event and show your support. We were pleasantly surprised at Pagan Spirit Gathering’s willingness to have Asatru events.

Lunacy (the musical group Bruner is a member of) unfortunately does not have a website up and running as yet but we’ll keep you posted when we hear more about the CD launch.

Jay Talkington joins us for this episode of Ravencast. Jay is a member of Medoburg Kindred
and Frost Fyre Kindred and a professional brewer. We asked Jay to join us because of his insights regarding Aegir. There is guite a bit in this interview as we cover Aegir’s Hall, brewing then and now, as well as Jotuns in general and the place of those who choose to join the Gods community. So have a listen! Remember “Aegir, he’s not just your good time god”
